Is it possible that a UI could be built very thin using Silverlight with crazy amounts of binding and the business rules are all in web services? Meaning as little as possible is put in the client, only the necessities for the UI objects. It is at least something to ponder. Most of the Silverlight apps are still one form wonders but man do they load fast. No I mean fast. Nothing like the heavy client centric code in WinForm and WPF. Since you can't tell the difference visually, could the light weight aspects of Silverlight make real business apps load and perform faster than their WIn/WPF counterparts?
Still not a replacement for a framework like Xperience but I believe the apps within Xperience could benifit from faster loading?
TODO for the Jared visit:
- Talk to the bus from Silverlight
- Parent a Silverlight window in a tab
- Install/Updating mechanics
Questions, questions?
